1. Saint Cecilia Parrish

Saint Cecilia Parish was established in 1888. At that time the Back Bay section of Boston along Commonwealth Avenue and Beacon Street was the residential section of the Yankee aristocracy. The maids ("Irish working out girls") and coachmen who served these residents had long requested a church of their own. When Archbishop Williams granted their request and carved the parish from the territory of the Cathedral, they built a magnificent church out of their meager earnings.The church was dedicated on April 22, 1894.

2. The Harvard Club - Back Bay

The Harvard Club has been blessed with a rich and colorful history. Even the manner in which the Club was founded provides an interesting story. A group of alumni gathered in 1908 to discuss the idea of forming a Harvard Club in Boston. Since an earlier attempt had failed it was decided that it was an inopportune time to begin such a venture.
